Where did Körmy get his name?

When I first dreamed of a bullmastiff and got to know the breed, I of course also thought about possible names. That's when I decided that if I ever had a male bullmastiff, it would be named Vääpeli Körmy. Be that as it may, the official name of the puppy went perfectly with the army-inspired "Vääpeli Körmy".

Körmy is watchful and aware of the territory, unauthorized intruders are not accepted and there is no need to hide behind the fence. Körmy is a relatively tough dog by nature, he recovers from situations immediately and is not bothered by them. Körmy reminds me of the so-called "old-time bullmastiff", which I think bullmastiffs were like when the breed was once developed as a forest ranger's working dog.

Körmy loves petting, stroking, kisses and even hugs from his family. It welcomes strangers happily if one of the family members is there. If we have a dog other than Körmy being crushed, it might come and push the other one away from the front, forcing itself to be crushed. It's not jealous and it doesn't growl, it just simply rolls over.

Körmy started doing personal search when he was younger, when we were still living in Oulu. Unfortunately, due to other busyness and a change of residence, the hobby that started well was left behind.

Körmy had a few epileptic-type seizures in April 2023 and the blood tests did not find anything that would have explained the seizures. The cause was suspected to be a brain tumor or epilepsy, so Körmy was started on epilepsy medication with phenobarbital as an experiment 24.4.2023 and after that there were no seizures until 10.1.2024. Despite the medication, because of the renewed seizures and after Körmy had two epileptic-type seizures, he was euthanized the next day.
